Designing For Belonging
Thu 29 Oct
|Il Salotto
Sustainability is usually measured in carbon, materials and circularity — but there's a pillar of it that's much harder to quantify: whether the people inside our buildings, campuses and communities actually feel they belong there.

About the Event
Picking up the conversation Shaw Contract started at Clerkenwell Design Week this year — where they framed belonging as inseparable from "people and planet" health — this panel brings together voices from property, architecture, higher education and government to ask a deceptively simple question: what does it actually take to design a place where everyone belongs? From student wellbeing to workplace retention to national policy, our panellists explore belonging as a measurable outcome of good design, not a soft add-on to it.
Rather than being passive listeners, you'll be invited to contribute your questions, ideas, and challenges as our panel responds in real time, creating an open, collaborative dialogue.
Speakers:
Stephen Lewis, HFD
Hazel Pearson, MLA
